The purpose behind the design of Living Histories.com was to be purely an informational site. It has many similarities to a portal site and actually involves very relevant information pertaining to the subject matter of historical reenactment groups throughout the world.

The basic idea for this site was to provide a one stop-shop-informational  site to a newcomer or even the generally interested about what is and how to get the information one needs in order to join into a historical reenactment group such as World War II, Civil War, Renaissance, and even fantasy reenactments such as Star Wars. Although there are many links that take the visitor to an outside page source, the information provided on the site is very helpful in making that decision to visiting the other site for things such as getting in contact with a group, obtaining supplies/props, and anything else that may be relevant.

This site was designed as a personal project to reasearch and better understand social communities, information architecture, and user experience.
